The Welcome Reception was held at the Georgia Aquarium, a short walk from the Expo venue. The scenery may not have included helicopters, but it was still eye-catching for attendees.

HAI President and CEO James Viola, left, congratulated HAI Salute to Excellence awardee David Ellis, executive director of the Haiti Air Ambulance, a charity providing air medical services on the island. Ellis received the Golden Hour Award for his effective use of air medical helicopters to overcome Haiti’s land-transport challenges.
