Helicopter operations company provides a variety of services, from flight instruction to purchasing and sales support.

Nelson AeroDynamiX Corp. (NAC) offers a range of helicopter aviation services, including consultation, piloting, flight instruction, and management. Founded in 1996 by Kevin Nelson, a US Coast Guard (USCG) pilot, the Traverse City–Michigan-based company employs a team of helicopter operations specialists with more than 90 years of collective experience. The company’s owner, Nelson is also involved in STC (supplemental type certificate) development and flight-test projects and is a EuroSafety International initial airframe and recurrent contract trainer in the AS350 B2, AS350 B3e single hydraulic, EC130 B4, H120, H125, and H130 model helicopters.

Support Services
NAC understands that deciding to purchase and operate a helicopter can often be an overwhelming proposition for an individual or company new to rotorcraft aviation. The company provides support ranging from helping identify the right aircraft and supporting all the steps involved in purchasing to navigating insurance, maintenance, refurbishment, safety program implementation, and eventual sale.

NAC recently started a new division called DOMTracKING, which focuses on advocating for and with private Part 91 Airbus owners to meet time-consuming maintenance and components-tracking demands. Soon, the division will bring in civil restricted-category H-60/S70s, as well.

Flight Instruction and Other Services
NAC’s flight instruction students typically are VIP helicopter owners seeking focused instruction toward helicopter ratings. The company says its private instruction entails much more than helping pilots achieve ratings, however. NAC’s highly experienced instructors ensure that their students are deeply familiar with their aircraft, fully understand the contingencies of helicopter flight, and are prepared for lifelong safe operations. Instruction is often provided in the student’s aircraft.

Digging into his vast USCG experience, Nelson and his team also specialize in shipboard helicopter operations. NAC works with companies and individuals seeking to implement helicopter operations on yachts throughout the world. This support includes safe landing-zone design, training, logistics, and management.

Other NAC services include helicopter refurbishment consultation, expert witness services, contract flying, professional pilot mentoring, and private heliport/helipad design, approval, and construction.
