Camera, searchlight, and mapping systems provider meets the varied missions of helicopter operators.

Trakka Systems of Bradenton, Florida, helps helicopter operators carry out critical missions around the globe.

The Polish National Police added four Trakka Systems packages to its Bell 407GXi in early 2023.

The company designs gyrostabilized cameras, high-intensity searchlights, command and control systems, moving maps, and other integrated systems for airborne, ground, and maritime operations, including for helicopters and uncrewed aircraft systems (UASs).

Trakka provides equipment for various helicopter applications, including law enforcement, air medical, fire mapping and detection, search-and-rescue, border security, environmental and ecological surveys, force and infrastructure protection, military surveillance, and utility inspection.

Integrated Product Line
TrakkaCam surveillance systems, TrakkaBeam searchlights, and TrakkaMaps map and video management systems together form what Trakka Systems calls a “total mission solutions” package. The three product lines give operators a range of customizable equipment designed to be user friendly while seamlessly integrating with other helicopter systems.

The Grand River Dam Authority in Tulsa, Oklahoma, recently purchased a Trakka Systems package for a Bell 407GXi.

The TrakkaCam line features a series of rugged, gyrostabilized camera systems with sensors for multispectral imaging, including infrared and high-definition color. The sensors are engineered to penetrate the most challenging atmospheric conditions, including haze, mist, fog, high humidity, rain, smog, and smoke. More-advanced models can measure temperatures in real time, detect corona discharge, and capture photos and videos.

TrakkaBeam searchlights sport xenon and light-emitting diode/laser excited phosphor (LED/LEP) hybrid technologies that deliver brighter, more consistent illumination than traditional searchlights while reducing power consumption compared with older-generation systems. Some models have sensors that include electro-optical and infrared cameras.

The TrakkaMaps TM-100 is a mission mapping and video management system that can run on various computer platforms, including notebooks and rugged laptops. Designed to integrate with TrakkaCam cameras and TrakkaBeam searchlights, the TM-100 can move the focus of the camera and searchlight to any point on the map with a touch of the screen or mouse click followed by the user’s input of address, intersection, city, points of interest, or coordinates. The touchscreen controls offer 3D, street, satellite, and custom map views, available with augmented-reality overlays on live video imagery.

Global Reach
Trakka Systems maintains a global presence and offers rapid delivery and service-turnaround times. The company operates sales and service facilities in the United States, Australia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, with dedicated manufacturing facilities in Australia, the United States, and Sweden.

The company is a certified, accredited supplier to all major helicopter manufacturers.
