High Schools using the AOPA Foundation Aviation STEM Curriculum now have access to a severely discounted “You Can Fly Kit” from King Schools.
Elizabeth Tennyson, Senior Vice President of the AOPA Foundation You Can Fly said “We’re excited to work with King Schools to make learning resources available to high school students nationwide.”
The King Schools “You Can Fly Kit” consists of a King Schools Private Pilot Ground School & Test Prep Course and Pilot Communications Course. The Private Pilot course is the same course that hundreds of thousands of people have used to pass their FAA written exams. Students will receive their endorsement to take the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Exam after completing three practice exams with passing scores. The Pilot Communications Course teaches pilot communication procedures and techniques to use in every class of airspace. The retail price for these two courses is $328. However, AOPA STEM students can purchase the You Can Fly Kit for $99.
In addition, King Schools is offering high schools that use the AOPA curriculum the King Commercial Drone Pilot Course (retail $129) for $59 per course. The drone course prepares students to take the FAA Part 107 Knowledge Exam.
To support the program, participating high schools also receive free instructor copies of each course and regular reporting on student progress as they complete each lesson.
King Schools CEO & Owner Barry Knuttila said “AOPA is having a huge impact on growing high school STEM programs. They now have over 10,000 students following their curriculum at a time when we really need pilots. We are thrilled to support their work and this great program.”
